Køge 0–8 Barcelona: Seven Scorers and Romeu’s 100th Win

Køge 0–8 Barcelona gave Barça Women a third win in three Champions League matches on 29 October and marked Pere Romeu’s 100th victory as coach. Clàudia Pina scored twice as seven different players found the net in Denmark. Beyond the scale of the result, the evening combined a strong European start with a significant coaching milestone.

  • Barcelona led 2–0 at half-time and added six after the break.
  • Graham Hansen opened the scoring from a penalty; Pina finished with a brace.
  • The club reported Barça outright top after three European wins.
  • Romeu’s century of victories came in 109 matches across competitions.

Two goals established control before the interval

The official match report records Caroline Graham Hansen’s penalty after 12 minutes and Ewa Pajor’s second goal after 33. Pina supplied Pajor for the latter. Barcelona therefore reached half-time with a clear advantage, before the scoring accelerated in the second half. The report describes sustained pressure rather than an early exchange of goals.

That half-time distinction helps make sense of an unusually large scoreline. Eight goals can suggest a single uninterrupted rush, yet the match had stages: establishing the lead, protecting it until the interval and then extending it. Reading those stages is more useful than allowing the final margin to erase the way the result was constructed.

Seven scorers shared the attacking return

Esmee Brugts, Patri Guijarro, Clara Serrajordi and Kika Nazareth added second-half goals before Pina scored in the 70th and 85th minutes. The club credits Kika with both of Pina’s final passes and Pajor with the delivery for Kika’s goal. Those details show contributions crossing between scoring and supplying, rather than belonging to a single finisher.

Player Goals
Caroline Graham Hansen 1 (penalty)
Ewa Pajor 1
Esmee Brugts 1
Patri Guijarro 1
Clara Serrajordi 1
Kika Nazareth 1
Clàudia Pina 2

Our reading is that the spread of scorers is the detail worth following into later matches. When different players arrive in threatening positions, a defence has several movements to track. This result demonstrates a shared scoring return on the night; it does not guarantee the same opportunities against every opponent. The next useful comparison is how that variety works in a closer contest.

Kika’s evening also gives the scoreline a useful substitute’s perspective. The official team sheet records her introduction for Aitana Bonmatí after 63 minutes. She then scored and supplied Pina twice. That is a concrete example of a player influencing the attack after entering, rather than simply joining a result already decided by the starters.

Romeu’s century belongs to a wider record

A separate Barcelona coaching milestone report places Romeu’s 100 wins within 109 matches. It dates his first victory to 8 September 2024 against Deportivo at Riazor and describes Køge as his 21st Champions League win. The 100 is therefore a total across competitions, while 21 refers specifically to Europe.

A coaching total can be impressive without being a complete explanation of a team. Squad quality, collective habits and the different demands of each competition all shape the work. The milestone gives supporters a clear historical reference. The match itself offers the more immediate evidence: who combined, how the lead developed and how the team continued after going comfortably ahead.

What the result means for the European campaign

Barcelona’s report places the team outright top after this third consecutive win. That is the position described at the time of the match report, rather than a promise about the final league-phase table.
